Dog Boarding & Dog Care in Battle Ground, WA
Dog Boarding & Dog Care in Battle Ground, WA
A True Country Retreat for Battle Ground DogsIf you’re looking for a change of pace from the crowded, noisy kennels found in town, Shady Hill Canine Camp provides a refreshing alternative. Tucked away in the scenic landscape outside Battle Ground, our facility offers your dog a chance to breathe in the crisp Mount St. Helens air and trade pavement for grass. We’ve designed our boarding experience to feel less like a facility and more like a rural getaway where your pet can actually decompress.
Built for Comfort, Not Just Boarding
We believe the environment plays a huge role in a dog's well-being. That’s why you won't find cold concrete floors here; instead, our indoor spaces are outfitted with specialized rubber matting to stay easy on your dog’s joints and paws. Whether it’s a heatwave in July or a cold Clark County winter, our climate-controlled system keeps the interior at a steady, comfortable 62 degrees. To top off the day, every guest gets a bedtime treat to help them drift off into a relaxed sleep.
Experienced, On-Site Care
Safety is our baseline. With two residences on the property, we aren't just "staff"—we are neighbors to the dogs in our care. Having over 25 years of hands-on experience allows us to cater to everyone from high-energy puppies to seniors requiring a gentle touch and medication management. We offer various run sizes to keep families together or side-by-side, ensuring every guest feels right at home.
A Resource for Local Adventures
Heading out toward the Ape Caves or Cougar for the day? Since many of those trails aren't dog-friendly, we offer daytime boarding to keep your pup safe while you explore. We also provide grooming services and nail trims by appointment, weather permitting.
A Quiet Haven During the Holidays
One of the biggest perks of our rural Battle Ground location is the silence. For dogs that are terrified of the "boom" of fireworks, our camp serves as a peaceful sanctuary during the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve. Because we are a preferred spot for anxious dogs, these dates fill up fast—often months ahead of time.
Plan a Visit
To maintain a calm atmosphere and keep our residents on their preferred routines, we schedule tours by appointment only. This ensures the focus stays exactly where it should be: on the dogs. Whether you call it boarding, doggie daycare, or a "canine camp," Shady Hill is here to give your dog a vacation of their own.
